Dübendorf, 26.08.2026– Swiss proptech viboo is preparing for its next phase of growth with a change in leadership: Oliver Graf takes over as CEO, while founder Felix Bünning remains Chairman of the Board.
The ETH Zurich and Empa spin-off has developed award-winning AI technology that proactively regulates building heating systems based on weather forecasts, occupancy, and the thermal dynamics of each individual room. More than 130 buildings in Switzerland and Germany are already equipped with the platform, saving an average of around 25 percent in energy while providing valuable data on consumption and operation. To continue this trajectory, viboo closed a 4 million euro funding round at the end of 2025.
With Oliver Graf, viboo has appointed a serial entrepreneur who is well connected across the DACH real estate industry. Graf spent several years as a proptech founder and board member at Ziegert Group, as well as working as a business angel, advisor, and consultant across numerous other real estate ventures. In his new role, he will drive the company's strategic and organizational development, accelerate growth in the DACH market, expand into new markets, and lay the groundwork for scalable growth.
"I'm excited to lead viboo into its next growth phase. With this funding round, the team has built a strong foundation for us to scale deliberately from here," says Oliver Graf. His ambition for viboo goes beyond growth alone: "Together with the team, I want to help real estate investors, companies, and cities on their path to decarbonization, and reduce the CO₂emissions of buildings along the way."
To support even more real estate investors, companies, and cities on the path to data-driven, energy-efficient buildings, viboo will continue to expand its product and organization under Graf's leadership. The goal is to establish itself as a leading name in intelligent building automation and decarbonization within the real estate industry.
Felix Bünning, who co-founded viboo together with Benjamin Huber and Matthias Sulzer, remains active as Chairman of the Board: "This next growth phase calls for experience in scaling companies and in the real estate industry. Oliver brings exactly that. As Chairman of the Board, I continue to help shape viboo's strategic direction."

viboo adds a new layer of intelligence to buildings — one that learns from data, anticipates what’s coming, and keeps them efficient, comfortable, and future-ready.

Building automation is a worthwhile first step in any renovation project, purely from an economic standpoint: it is the most affordable option with the fastest return on investment. What is often overlooked, however, is that this is where the real value creation begins. Automation brings something else into the building that becomes critical for all subsequent renovation steps: data.

On July 10, 2026, the Bundestag passed the Building Modernization Act (GModG), with the Bundesrat granting its approval on the same day. The GModG replaces the previous Building Energy Act (GEG) and, among other things, repeals the so-called Heating Act—the mandate requiring 65 percent renewable energy for heating system replacements—without replacement. Anyone who immediately thinks of the heating debate when they hear "GModG" may easily overlook one of the most practically significant changes: the substantial expansion of the building automation mandate.

Great honor for viboo: Our co-founder and CEO Felix Bünning was honored as Digital Shaper 2026 by BILANZ Business Magazine — representing the entire viboo team.

Hotel Crystal St. Moritz saves around 20% of heating energy with viboo & Siemens — less CO₂ emissions, more comfort and sustainable hotel management.

With viboo Predictive Control, Smart City Schaffhausen reduces energy consumption in the Bach school building by 22% and saves 13 tons of CO₂.

Despite using hardware, Viboo remains climate-friendly: After just around one month, the grey emissions are offset by energy savings.

Building automation demonstrably offers energy savings of up to 35% — through networked TGA control, individual room control and AI-based optimization.

When renovating inefficient existing buildings, owners face a choice between insulation, new windows, heat pumps, or building automation—all while working with limited budgets and tight regulatory deadlines. A cost comparison shows that building automation delivers the shortest payback period and the highest energy savings per euro invested, making it the ideal first step in any renovation roadmap.
